Who We Are:
Skin Care Solutions at Comprehensive Healthcare for Women is a medical spa located in the professional building of Rush North Hospital.  We are situated within a medical practice of Ob/Gyn doctors.  Although medical-based, our skin care treatments are also holistic and incorporate philosophies from both Western and Eastern medicine for a more well rounded approach.  We have a medical esthetician who has been doing clinical based holistic treatments for a long time and is very well respected in the industry.    Dr. Catherine Dillon, Dr. David Shaw, and Dr. Susan Ashby are the physicians who are on site. Together, they all bring many years of experience to the table.  

Our treatments are not limited to women, however because of our specialty, we have a great understanding of the skin care issues that accompany many women in today's society.  With pregnancy, menopause, birth control pills, hormonal imbalances, and the many stresses that we put on ourselves, our skin can often suffer with acne, uneven pigmentation and melasma, dryness, Rosacea, and much more. 

Our History, Our Vision:
The founder and clinical esthetician at Skin Care Solutions is Allison Harris.   Allison has been in the beauty industry for nine years.  She started off managing the spas at Mario Tricoci's Old Orchard and Michigan ave locations.  She then went on to graduate from Pivot Point Cosmetology Research Center while simultaneously finishing a bachelor's degree in psychology.   Immediately following graduation, Allison began a job at the Tiffani Kim Institute in the Loop.  Not long after this, she was promoted to  become the head of Tiffani Kim's Clinical Skin Care Department.  Impressed by the results seen with these treatments, she left to join the staff of a more medical and clinically focused environment. 

Allison worked as  a regional educator and trainer for the Rejuvi skin care line and as a national educator and trainer for supermodel Christy Turlington's Sundari line of Ayurvedic skin care products.


The Vision Was Realized
Allison began using a holistic approach when she realized that the skin was a reflection of the inside and that it must be treated, explored, and nurtured in such a way.  A face is not just a face.  The condition of the skin is a result of the physical and emotional factors that make up a person.  The spa treatments were not producing enough long-term results and the medical settings were not addressing the internal issues, some of them being stress, that were causing the skin problems.  Not enough people were talking about nutrition, vitamins, sleep, hormones, medications, anti-biotics and numerous other factors and their role in the skin.  It was time to start doing that.  In addition to her training with the skin, Allison also holds a bachelors degree in psychology and a certification in Reiki energy healing to help promote stress reduction and relaxation in people and to help people find their inner purpose and work through anxiety or unresolved issues that may be affecting them in their current daily life.

The Vision Was Born
In July of  2002, Allison  shared her vision of a medical spa retreat with Dr. Dillon who was a patient of hers from The Tiffani Kim Institute.  They talked about giving patients a safe and familiar place to go to have time to themselves in order to heal themselves from the inside out. A place to relax and rejuvenate while benefiting from some real clinical skin care that would produce long-term results in the skin. 

Because Dr. Dillon saw a need in her practice to help women suffering from skin care issues relating to aging, stress, and hormones, and she knew that this was Allison's specialty and that she had helped her own skin, Dr. Dillon invited Allison into the practice.  Together with the medical expertise of the physicians and the years of training and experience in the skin care field that Allison had, they knew that something great was going to happen.  And it did...
